Job Summary
Direct the entire operation of a nursing unit in a long-term care facility by performing general management functions including hiring, disciplining, and evaluating employees. Plan and facilitate meetings to address resident care issues, manage staffing patterns and census to ensure needs are met, and monitor clinical operations to maintain the highest quality of care. Participate in developing programs for staff recruitment, retention, and continuing education while contacting physicians as necessary. Review medications, supplies, and medical records to provide safe, efficient, and therapeutic care to residents on a continuing basis.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) (if state requires)
- Valid CPR teaching certificate, if applicable
- Three years of nursing experience, of which one year was in a long-term care environment
Desired Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing, degree preferred
