Job Summary
Unit Manager RN is responsible for directing the operation of a nursing unit in a long-term care facility, supervising staff, hiring and disciplining employees, planning and facilitating meetings, and ensuring high-quality resident care. The role involves coordinating with physicians, reviewing staffing patterns and census, ensuring timely physician interventions, obtaining medications and records, orienting new personnel, participating in QA programs, and contributing to staff education and development to promote recruitment, retention, and continuing education.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Valid CPR teaching certificate, if applicable
- Three years of nursing experience, including one year in a long-term care environment
