Job Summary
Direct nursing activities in accordance with facility regulations and assist the Director in developing policies, procedures, and quality assurance programs. Coordinate nursing with resident services to ensure continuity of care, admit, transfer, and discharge residents, and develop work assignments for LPNs and RNs. Complete accident/incident reports, medical forms, and evaluations while ensuring personnel compliance with job descriptions and safety regulations. Monitor staff use of personal protective equipment and supplies, recommend equipment needs, and participate in facility surveys. Greet newly admitted residents, escort them to rooms, and notify physicians and next-of-kin regarding condition changes. Provide direct nursing care as necessary and attend continuing education programs to maintain licensure.
Required Qualifications
- Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university, or be a graduate of an approved LPN/RN program
- 2 year(s) of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other related health care facility
- current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN or LPN in this state
- knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care
- leadership and supervisory ability
- willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel
