Unit Manager RN

Direct the entire operation of a nursing unit in a long-term care facility by performing general management functions such as hiring, disciplining, and evaluating employees. Plan and facilitate meetings to address resident care issues, manage staffing patterns and census to meet resident needs and budgetary controls, and monitor clinical operations to ensure appropriate care is administered. Participate in developing programs for staff recruitment, retention, and continuing education while contacting physicians as necessary. Obtain medications, supplies, and medical records to provide safe, efficient care to residents on a continuing basis. Assist in the orientation of new personnel and monitor their skills.
