Job Summary
Oversee nursing care on a 32-bed Neurological Disease Unit as RN Unit Manager. Lead clinical nursing oversight, supervise direct care staff, ensure compliance with federal/state/local standards, and collaborate with the NeuroCare Director, Program Director, and Education to implement care-plan changes. Perform quarterly/annual MDS assessments, monitor policy adherence, coordinate in-person assessments of potential residents, contribute to staff evaluations, and ensure infection control. Facilitate weekly care plan meetings, conduct fall risk assessments and Braden scales, provide clinical updates to resident families, and participate in QA/QI, Safety, and Leadership meetings. Maintain PHI confidentiality and uphold ethical, compliant practice; BSN-preferred with relevant leadership experience in neuro care.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved/accredited School of Nursing
- Current NY State RN license
- Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
- Two years of supervisory leadership experience in nursing (neuro care preferred)
- Knowledge of Federal and State regulations governing nursing
- Knowledge of Minimum Data Set (MDS) experience preferred
- Ability to organize, plan and implement nursing service policies and procedures
- Pursuit of continuing education to maintain knowledge and skills
- Ability to perform annual job-specific skills checklist
- Infection control standards compliance
- Confidential handling of PHI
- Ability to participate in QA/QI committees
