Job Summary
Oversee daily clinical and operational functions for the 24-bed medical surgical unit, ensuring seamless patient care across the continuum for populations including cystic fibrosis, arrhythmias, and kidney failure. Lead staff development, manage performance, and implement quality and safety initiatives aligned with Magnet® model principles. Execute financial and productivity initiatives while monitoring key performance indicators to drive operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Collaborate with division leadership to address resource allocation challenges and advocate for optimal staffing to support patient safety. Manage compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements, providing ongoing education to ensure adherence to clinical standards and best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN)
- A minimum of five (5) total years of professional nursing practice experience in acute and/or ambulatory care settings
- Two (2) years of lead, supervisory, management, and/or leadership experience in nursing and/or health system position/role
- A valid, unencumbered Registered Nursing License approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing
- BLS required
- Demonstrated leadership in promoting collaboration, diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice within the populations served and the health system
- Experience overseeing intricate, complex service line operations within a healthcare system
- Ongoing demonstrated clinical and leadership competence
- 10+ lbs. 67-100% of the workday (constantly)
- Lifting 10+ lbs max

Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in nursing or Doctoral degree (DNP, PhD, DrPH)
- A minimum of five (5) total years of professional nursing practice experience in acute and/or ambulatory care settings; three (3) years of lead, supervisory, management, and/or leadership experience within a complex academic health system
- Nurse Executive Certification (NE-BC, NEA-BC) or comparable certifications (CNML or CENP)
- ACLS certification may be necessary depending on specialty area, post hire
- Additional certifications may be required based on department and specialty
