Job Summary
Unit Manager LPN oversees the entire operation of a nursing unit in a long-term care facility, with responsibilities including hiring, disciplining, evaluating staff; planning and facilitating meetings to address resident care issues; staff development and continuing education; coordinating with physicians; monitoring staffing and budgets; ensuring quality care and compliance with accreditation and certification requirements; and participating in QA programs. The role requires three years of nursing experience (one year in long-term care), graduation from an accredited nursing program, and LPN licensure. Strong leadership, communication, and ability to work with a diverse team are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing, degree preferred.
- Licensed as a LPN (if state requires) or LPN/LVN in state employed.
- Valid CPR teaching certificate, if applicable.
