Job Summary
Unit Manager (LPN) responsible for supervising the delivery of nursing care on an assigned Unit. Assess resident needs, develop care plans, administer nursing care, evaluate nursing care, and supervise CNAs and other personnel in the delivery of nursing care. Attend therapy meetings; complete assessments at admission and discharge; document services for billing; identify and prioritize nursing problems; implement care plans; coordinate with therapy and nursing departments to optimize reimbursement and discharge planning; maintain accurate charts and records; supervise and assign duties to LPNs and nursing assistants; ensure compliance with physician orders, infection control, standard precautions, and facility policies; report discharge details; collaborate with the Director of Nursing to resolve grievances and improve patient care; promote teamwork and positive relationships; fill in as Charge Nurse when necessary; audit nursing charges; participate in in-service education; protect residents’ rights and confidentiality. Minimum qualifications include an active RN/LPN license, strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, and a compassionate approach to elderly and disabled residents.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with current state license
- Excellent technical, assessment and documentation skills
- Good leadership qualities
- Organized and detailed in work performance
- Good communication skills with excellent self-discipline and patience
- Genuine caring for and interest in elderly and disabled people in a nursing facility
- Comply with the Residents’ Rights and Facility Policies and Procedures
- Perform work tasks within the physical demand requirements as outlined below
