Unit Manager (LPN)

Job Summary
Supervise the delivery of care to residents on assigned Unit by making daily rounds, developing care plans, and overseeing CNAs and other personnel in nursing care. Complete assessments at admission and discharge, document services for billing, and implement established policies while educating support staff. Identify and prioritize primary nursing problems, assign duties to LPNs and nursing assistants, and fill in as Charge Nurse when necessary. Monitor resident status, track infection control trends, and respond to staffing shortages by arranging replacement staff. Handle disciplinary actions requiring immediate attention and resolve grievances with staff, families, and residents. Maintain accurate records, ensure compliance with physician orders, and protect residents from neglect or abuse.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with current state license
- Excellent technical, assessment and documentation skills
- Good leadership qualities
- Organized and detailed in work performance
- Good communication skills with excellent self-discipline and patience
- Genuine caring for and interest in elderly and disabled people in a nursing facility
- Comply with the Residents' Rights and Facility Policies and Procedures
- Perform work tasks within the physical demand requirements as outlined below
- Perform Essential Duties as outlined above
