Job Summary
Monitor staffing assignments to ensure staff-to-child ratios, supervise direct care staff throughout shifts, and plan activities for children according to daily schedules. Provide therapeutic crisis intervention, escort children safely to and from locations, and document incidents, progress, and menu changes in compliance with federal and state regulations. Coordinate transportation for children, maintain records of personal items, and report maintenance needs to the zone supervisor. Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed while adhering to Compass Connections safety protocols and professional conduct standards.
Required Qualifications
- Fluent in English and Spanish
- High school diploma, or equivalent
- One (1) year of related experience and/or training
- First aid certification
- CPR certification
- Emergency behavior intervention certification
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens throughout employment
- Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request
- Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks
- Respond sensitively and competently to the service population's cultural and socio-economic characteristics
- Work collaboratively with other staff members, service providers and professionals
- Provide crisis intervention according to training provided by Compass Connections when needed to maintain a safe environment
- Work in a fast-paced environment and maintain emotional control and professional composure at all times
- Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position
- Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of all Compass Connections policies and procedures
- Receive an annual Influenza vaccination or obtain an approved exemption as a medical or religious accommodation
Desired Qualifications
- Two (2) plus years of related experience and/or training
- Two-year Associate degree from accredited program/institution, or two or more years of college-level course work
