Job Summary
Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe, effective, evidence-based, and quality patient care while providing strategies for floor coverage. Actively mentor all staff, including weekend and night personnel, in clinical competencies and professional behaviors by assessing individual learning needs and implementing varied teaching strategies. Facilitate ongoing unit education through in-services and CEU opportunities, organize new employee orientations, and support performance improvement initiatives using methodologies like PDCA. Model evidence-based practice and participate in policy development and review. This role involves splitting locations with another Unit Educator across multiple KUCC sites. BSN degree required for hires after November 1, 2025, with ADN nurses enrolled in a BSN program by the third anniversary of hire.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate
- Bachelor Degree Nursing
- Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Single State - State Board of Nursing or compact license
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) within 14 days
- BSN degree is required upon hire for nurses hired after November 1, 2025
- Must be enrolled in a BSN degree program within 6 months of hire date for ADN prepared nurses hired before November 1, 2025
- Must complete BSN degree by the third anniversary of hire date for ADN prepared nurses hired before November 1, 2025
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department
