Job Summary
Perform secretarial and environmental activities under RN supervision; monitor and maintain patient charts and medical records; operate communication systems (telephone, paging, pneumatic tube); assist with greeting, admission, registration, transfer, transport, and discharge of patients; maintain unit/office supplies and regulatory-standard-compliant environments; serve as a preceptor for orientation and training of unit coordinator staff; coordinate transport of medications from Pharmacy to practitioners or to secured storage; initiate emergency communications (Code Blue/Medical Assist/ACT) and relay required information; requires HS diploma or equivalent and BLS CPR certification; basic computer/tech skills and healthcare experience preferred; physical demands include lifting up to 100 lbs and frequent standing/walking; the role is 0.8 FTE with 32 hours/week day shift at Nationwide Children’s Hospital Main Campus, Columbus, OH.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required
- Successful completion of an approved unit coordinator or clerk course, preferred
- Current CPR certification (BLS-Health Care Provider), required
- Basic computer and technology skills required
- Experience: Previous health care experience, preferred
