Job Summary
Provides administrative support to unit-based and hospital-wide clinicians and staff; serves as liaison between patients, visitors, and clinicians; coordinates day-to-day patient flow with nursing, including admissions, discharges, and transfers; schedules consultations, tests, procedures, and patient transport; enters information into the electronic medical record; assists with payroll and staff scheduling as needed; requires strong office procedures, MS Office proficiency, medical terminology familiarity, and excellent communication skills. 24-hour evening shifts (3x8), every other weekend and rotating holidays; onsite at Newton-Wellesley Hospital (Mass General Brigham) with the role focused on clinical unit coordination and administrative support.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent or Associate's Degree
- 2 years administrative support experience (1-2 years required)
- Proficiency with MS Office
- Ability to proofread and edit written documents
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Strong verbal & written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage confidential information
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR)
- Certified Health Unit Coordinator (NAHUC) preferred
