Unit Coordinator/ Infant Feeding Tech - NICU

Job Summary

Prepare and deliver infant feedings according to physician orders, calculating standard and specialized recipes while maintaining aseptic technique. Safely store, label, and handle human milk in compliance with regulatory guidelines, operating equipment and monitoring refrigerator and freezer temperatures. Maintain proper sanitation of the infant feeding room, manage inventory, and stock the unit each shift. Communicate effectively with the medical team, nursing staff, and unit dietitian to verify feeding orders, and report product, supply, or equipment issues promptly. Participate in staff training on infant feeding preparation and new products, and assist with performance improvement initiatives. Perform unit coordinator duties including unit clerk coverage, laundry, and other non-direct patient care tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Able to read, write, and perform necessary mathematical tasks at a high school level or above
  • Experience Customer Service and Formula Preparation
  • High School Degree
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, highly regulated clinical environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to safety and infection control standards
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a respectful and compassionate approach
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Able to read, write, and perform necessary mathematical tasks at a high school level or above
  • Experience Customer Service and Formula Preparation
  • Wears proper attire while preparing feeds
  • Demonstrates ability to appropriately respond to and prioritize work
  • Responds appropriately to emergency situations (i.e., Code Blue, Rapid Response Team, fire, Special Alert)
  • Demonstrates knowledge/use of emergency systems, policies, and procedures
  • Maintains a safe environment
  • Reports safety hazards to appropriate personnel
  • Complies with infection control policies
  • Performs computer down time procedures according to unit/TriHealth guidelines
