Job Summary
Monitor normal and abnormal EKG rhythms, notify nursing staff of rhythm changes, and respond to patient needs during emergency and STAT situations. Post EKG strips routinely, complete assigned clerical work, and assist with unit communication and workflow. Maintain knowledge of telemetry systems and hospital policies while participating in quality initiatives. Work full-time, 7a-7p, on a 5/2 split schedule covering Mondays and Tuesdays at South Central Regional Medical Center.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to read, write, and understand written and verbal communication
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to perform the essential functions of this position
- Attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Ability to identify normal and abnormal EKG rhythms
- Ability to notify nursing staff of rhythm changes
- Ability to respond to patient needs and communicate appropriately
- Ability to remain calm and effective during emergency and STAT situations
- Ability to post EKG strips routinely
- Ability to complete assigned clerical work
- Ability to assist with unit communication and workflow
