Unit Charge Medical Oncology Registered Nurse / RN

Job Summary
Plan, coordinate, and direct daily operations of a specific shift on a clinical unit while supervising staff and facilitating communication with physicians and administrators. Mentor registered nurses on charge nurse functions, lead team behavior, and provide direction on policies, scheduling, and assignments. Evaluate resource use, coordinate staffing, and initiate tests of change for managerial problems. Participate in regulatory agency reviews, assist with budget planning, and ensure compliance with educational requirements. Resolve conflicts between staff, counsel employees, and address escalated patient issues by referring them to the Nurse Manager or Patient Advocate. Challenge systems to achieve best patient outcomes, implement innovative approaches, and develop in-service programs focused on leadership and evidence-based practice.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- 1 year of recent post-graduation nursing experience
- A valid, unencumbered Registered Nursing License approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing
- BLS certification
- Active compact/multistate license (eNLC) within 60 days of hire (if completing virtual care activities)
- MSN or DNP
Desired Qualifications
- ACLS certification (may be required for certain departments, post hire)
