Job Summary
Lead a team of unit caseworkers in the Reception and Treatment Center to supervise and guide incarcerated individuals. Responsibilities include monitoring inmate behavior and maintaining order in housing units, counseling inmates on rules and treatment plans, coordinating and documenting background information and referrals for medical, mental health, educational, and vocational services, and facilitating non-clinical programming. Requires a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a related field with corrections experience or substantial corrections experience; valid driver’s license; completion of facilitator training; pre-employment medical and drug testing; transcripts prior to appointment; and successful completion of the NE Corrections Training Program. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, behavioral sciences, human services or related field OR Associate’s degree in criminal justice, behavioral sciences, human services or related field plus two years of corrections experience; OR four years of corrections experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Transcripts required prior to appointment
- Applicants accepting a job offer must pass medical exam and, at a randomly announced time, pass a drug test
- Experience supervising/leading teammates (preferred)
- Experience managing a caseload (preferred)
- At least one year of experience in a correctional setting (preferred)
- Experience as a guest instructor, facilitating programs or public speaking (preferred)
- Facilitator training (required)
