Job Summary
Provide clerical support and direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse in the Emergency Department. Duties include maintaining patient records and unit supplies, facilitating communications for the assigned area, and performing patient care within defined practice. Care for adolescent through geriatric patients, perform routine nursing-support tasks (vital signs, ADL, hygiene, charting in EMR), respond to patient calls, transport patients, and assist with safety and infection-prevention protocols. Demonstrates teamwork with the healthcare staff, adheres to Universal Precautions, and follows unit procedures and policies.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum one year experience as nursing assistant, patient care technician, or unit assistant
- Nursing students who completed Foundations of Nursing are eligible without previous experience
