Job Summary
Operate a sit-down forklift to move chemicals to and from the elevator, load and unload trucks, and receive bulk or packaged product for inbound orders. Package chemicals in pails, drums, and totes, and decant chemicals into containers as specified. Maintain daily logs and record plant operating data, perform preventative maintenance on production equipment, and ensure supplies are distributed throughout the facility. Store supplies, empty containers, and safety equipment neatly, while conducting general housekeeping and reporting process or equipment issues to the Production Supervisor. Comply with all safety requirements, PPE protocols, and WHMIS/MSDS procedures. Work the 2nd shift Monday through Friday from 02:00pm to 10:30pm.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ Years experience working in a chemical plant
- 2 Years experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility
- Ability to collaborate effectively and efficiently with colleagues
- Effective communication skills
- Time management
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time
- Regular and sustained attendance
- Pass forklift driving exam (pre-offer)
Desired Qualifications
- 2 Years experience operating a forklift preferred
- Previous experience in a chemical plant preferred
