Job Summary
Maintain building cleanliness by polishing fixtures, sweeping floors, and washing walls, windows, and woodwork. Empty wastebaskets, replenish bathroom supplies, and transport trash to disposal areas. Cut grass, shovel snow, deliver messages, and transport tools between departments. Replace light bulbs and set up tables for auditorium events. Work in wet conditions and lift up to 50 pounds; requires standing, walking, and climbing stairs. Report unsafe conditions and adhere to safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Less than high school education
- up to one month related experience
- related training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
