Job Summary
Diagnose and repair Buck Ramps for automobile railcar unloading operations while performing preventive maintenance, welding, and fabrication. Work on gasoline and diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical components across a 24/7/365 schedule involving non-standard hours, nights, weekends, and holidays. Maintain own tools with a yearly allowance provided and assist in other areas as directed by managers. This union position requires a valid driver's license, verifiable mechanical experience, and the ability to pass a physical strength test and background check. Candidates must work outdoors in all conditions and adhere to strict safety protocols regarding rail equipment and automobiles.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in the mechanical field
- preventative maintenance minded
- own tools
- experience and knowledge working with Air, Electrical, Hydraulic, and Diesel systems and components
- valid driver's license
- verifiable mechanical experience
- Must undergo a background check
- Must be able to pass a physical strength test
- Must pass a drug screening
- Required to join local union
- able to work outdoors in all conditions, including hot temperatures
- Understanding the work hazards and being able to work safely
