Job Summary
Operate the laundry valet by managing uniform and guest clothes flow through dry cleaning, washing, and pressing machines. Inspect uniforms for issues and report them to the supervisor, while monitoring linen conditions to sort items into stained piles or by type. Set up and organize the workstation with designated supplies, replenish equipment as needed, and restock areas for the next shift. Adhere to proper cleaning chemical usage and all health, sanitation, and safety regulations. Report faulty equipment, linen shortages, maintenance needs, and safety hazards immediately. Successfully complete the training and certification process for this position.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to communicate in English verbally and written
- Reading and counting is essential
- Must be able to work in high heat indexes
- Must possess the ability to perform tasks with attention to detail, speed accuracy, and follow-through
- Must be able to work on site due to daily needs of the job requirements
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds across short-medium distance
- Must be able to stand on their feet for an 8-hour shift
- Must be open to receiving regular feedback through weekly standards assessments
- Must possess a desire to continuously seek out the opportunity to explore and experience new area attractions and restaurants in order to build upon your knowledge of Kiawah Island and the surrounding area
- Must adhere to proper Cleaning Chemical(s) usage, according to OSHA regulations and hotel requirements
- Adhere to all health department, sanitation and safety regulation as required by the resort
- Successfully complete the training and certification process for this position
Desired Qualifications
- High School graduate, or GED equivalent, is preferred
- High School graduate or equivalent is preferred
- Previous experience of one year a plus
