Job Summary
Coordinate the UNFPA response for Zimbabwean returnees from South Africa across six high-burden districts, facilitating inter-agency GBV coordination groups and two-way communication between national and sub-national levels. Represent the sub-sector in Protection sector meetings, collaborate with Health, Child Protection, and other working groups, and lead the rollout of MISP and case management capacity building. Map institutional response capacities, develop evidence-based multi-sectoral prevention and response plans, and monitor progress against benchmarks. Undertake new assessment missions to determine the magnitude of GBV, train partners on standardized incident reporting forms, and develop monthly report formats. Write monthly progress reports and address response gaps by advocating with UNFPA as sub-cluster lead.
Required Qualifications
- Fluency in English
- Advanced degree in social work or other social sciences, public health, community health, international relations, international law, human rights or related field
- 7-10 years of experience working on gender-based violence
- 4 years of experience at the international level
- Experience leading inter-agency coordination mechanisms with a wide range of stakeholders
- Demonstrable knowledge of the critical components to facilitate effective inter-agency coordination
- Awareness and demonstrable knowledge of how GBV manifests in humanitarian settings
- Ability to describe context-specific prevention and response actions
- Demonstrable knowledge of humanitarian emergency operations, including the Cluster System and HPC
- Roles and responsibilities of key humanitarian actors
- Proficiency in English
- Successful completion of the PSEA online course
Desired Qualifications
- Experience designing and managing GBV programmes in an NGO
