Underwriting Technician

Job Summary
Underwriting Technician reviews and rates commercial insurance applications to determine policy premiums using internal systems and guidelines, enters data into the Policy Administration System (PAS), uploads and organizes policy documents, documents underwriting notes and assumptions, prepares policy endorsements, analyzes state-specific coverages and underwriting criteria, and processes policy changes including cancellations, reinstatements, and non-renewals. The role requires thoughtful, data-based decision making, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple tasks with deadlines in a non-exempt, full-time capacity.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; proficiency with basic computer software, data entry, and spreadsheets.
- 1+ year of policy rating or office experience; familiarity with Guidewire Policy Center is a plus.
