Job Summary
Manage a geographic underwriting operation by supervising underwriting staff, overseeing risk acceptance, declination, and pricing, and fostering agency relationships through in-person travel. Counsel underwriters on complicated risks, review decisions exceeding their authority, and implement underwriting guidelines or pricing adjustments to drive profitable growth. Accountable for the performance of the book of business while training associates and initiating personnel actions such as salary adjustments and promotions. Requires eight years of property/casualty insurance experience with three years in leadership. Hybrid schedule for candidates within 50 miles of West Bend; deadline 08/12/2026.
Required Qualifications
- at least eight years of property and casualty insurance experience
- leadership experience
- strong analytical and communication skills
- a bachelor's degree
- Valid drivers license
- Candidates who are located within 50 miles of a West Bend office location
- The position can be based in West Bend or Madison
Desired Qualifications
- preferably a CPCU designation
- 8 years of professional experience in the property/casualty insurance industry with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and develop others
- Analytical, organizational, planning and communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance or related field
