Job Summary
Underwriting Specialist responsible for underwriting new and renewal Middle Market accounts, negotiating price and terms with producers, ensuring contract certainty at inception, and maintaining policy documentation. Requires collaboration with brokers, governance-compliant practices, and use of global pricing tools. Roles include file maintenance, policy administration support, and coaching/mentoring of less experienced underwriters. Experience with Commercial Packaged Property and Casualty and established broker relationships in the market are highly valued. This position can sit 100% remote or hybrid within the Central/Midwest and involves market-facing activities with brokers in the territory.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of direct underwriting experience
- Minimum degree in Economics, Finance, Insurance Management, or Business Administration preferred
- Professional insurance qualification (e.g. CPCU) is a plus, but not required
