Job Summary
Evaluate and apply underwriting judgment to price and negotiate large and complex accounts in alignment with risk evaluation processes and renewal frameworks. Assess new business opportunities to support profitability goals while cultivating relationships with agency partners to drive growth and maintain portfolio quality. Provide service excellence to external contacts, ensuring successful account acquisition and retention through established negotiation standards. Maintain organized underwriting documentation and utilize tools to support risk assessment decisions. Attain established performance metrics for both new and renewal accounts. This hybrid role requires three days in the office and two from home in Dallas or Phoenix.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience
- 3 or more years' underwriting experience in commercial middle market insurance with exposure to large and complex accounts
- CIC, CPCU, AU designations preferred
- Proficient computer skills
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated successful ability to build positive relationships and partnerships within department, across the organization and with external customers
- Excellent organizational skills, including ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
- Ability to travel up to 10%
