Job Summary
Underwriting Counsel (Hybrid) provides underwriting support and counsel for real estate title insurance commitments and policies. The role underwrites real estate transactions, issues underwriting standards and guidelines, and guides personnel, agents, and customers in settlement services. Requires a law degree, active bar in the applicable state, and 5-7 years of title underwriting experience; strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills; ability to collaborate and think abstractly. Typical duties include applying underwriting standards within delegated authorities and supporting real estate settlement services in a hybrid in-office and remote-capable capacity.
