Job Summary
Underwriting Consultant responsible for underwriting life, disability, and/or long-term care insurance policies; builds relationships with financial advisors and internal partners; analyzes and underwrites a broad range of applications, approves/declines cases with guidance as needed; mentors junior underwriters, communicates complex decisions to field partners, and collaborates with medical directors and technical staff to ensure adherence to underwriting standards and production goals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years underwriting experience
- Analytical decision-making on complex cases
- Strong communication skills (written and oral)
- Proficient computer skills
