Job Summary
Perform underwriting analysis and documentation to determine risk acceptability for renewal and new business within assigned Letter of Underwriting Authority. Handle endorsement requests, triage renewal applications, and negotiate quote proposals with external partners while documenting all files for compliance and quality. Act as the first-line point of contact for producers and customers, identifying upsell opportunities and making field visits to support marketing efforts. Serve as a resource to internal partners by training, coaching, and providing feedback on line of business strategy and regulatory trends. Work independently across multiple tasks while leveraging advanced pricing tools and maintaining current knowledge of state and territory issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Typically a minimum of three years of related work experience
- Knowledge of Property and Casualty underwriting including insurance products, policy processing procedures and documentation
- Strong time management, and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently on multiple tasks
- Strong capability to advise and coach others
- Demonstrated customer service experience and the ability to interact with a wide-variety of people on a daily basis in person, via telephone and email
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business-related software
