Job Summary
Underwriting Assistant duties include researching policy renewals and new business, supporting underwriters with daily tasks, maintaining organized digital and physical filing, and assisting in managing agency communications. Requires strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, ability to handle confidential material, and comfort working independently or in a team. Prior exposure to MS Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is beneficial; familiarity with insurance terminology/workflows is an asset.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field is preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal
- Ability to handle confidential material with integrity and professionalism
- Proactive, adaptable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with insurance industry terminology and workflows is an asset, but not required
