Job Summary
Assess loss history and current financial conditions to determine case acceptance, then collect and review documentation for risk analysis. Conduct preliminary reviews of complex submissions to identify errors and confirm eligibility while utilizing databases to verify supplementary data. Collaborate with senior underwriters to finalize applications and process accounts from approved quotes through policy issuance. Manage inbound calls to connect customers and team members, providing tailored guidance for insurance needs. This developing level position supports the ISC Excess team in a hybrid or remote capacity, offering bonus pay and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) matching.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 1 year of P&C underwriting or related P&C underwriting support experience
- Must be located within a commutable distance to our Carlsbad, CA or Buffalo, NY office, or be remote from Lincoln, NE, or Phoenix, AZ
- Willing to work in office in a hybrid capacity if located within a commutable distance to Buffalo, NY or Carlsbad, CA OR work remotely from the Lincoln, NE or Phoenix, AZ area
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Desired Qualifications
- CPCU, CIC, CRIS, Property & Casualty Brokers License, etc.
- Strong customer service experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to quickly learn industry-specific software
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members and other departments
- Strong desire to learn, explore new ideas, and seeking out new knowledge
- Ability to be flexible, embrace change, and quickly pivot in response to shifting priorities
