Underwriting Assistant - Marine Undewriting

Job Summary
Collect and reconcile new and renewal submission information to prepare policy/account files for underwriter review. Review and analyze account data including exposures, loss information, and financials to accurately input data into systems for timely quote and policy processing. Gather relevant account information to produce quotes and binders for new and renewal accounts, while managing all aspects of the risk account from submission to document issuance. Perform quality control checks to ensure data accuracy and troubleshoot transaction processing issues with the Operations Department. Respond to broker service requests for loss runs and endorsements, and participate in broker/agency visits and loss inspections per Underwriter recommendations. Submit analysis to the Cat Modeling Team and provide base analysis for flood zone info.
Required Qualifications
- College Degree with emphasis on insurance, business or accounting
- 3+ years insurance or reinsurance company experience with emphasis on analytic functions in underwriting support, underwriting, and/or accounting
- Working knowledge of rating and pricing models, insurance, and reinsurance for all lines of business
- Understanding of principles and processes for providing excellent customer service
Desired Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree & Experience College Degree with emphasis on insurance, business or accounting preferred
- 3+ years insurance or reinsurance company experience with emphasis on analytic functions in underwriting support, underwriting, and/or accounting preferred
