Job Summary
Manage submission intake from broker portals and email across Transportation, Construction, Life Sciences, Energy, and National Accounts verticals by logging, organizing, and uploading documents into underwriting platforms. Serve as the primary contact for retail brokers regarding quote status, binder issuance, and renewal timelines while tracking missing information and expiring policies. Assist underwriters with manual and loss rating verification, reconcile exposure data, and perform quality control on quotes and policy documents prior to delivery. Support the team by tracking key deadlines for binder expirations and renewals, contributing to process improvement initiatives, and handling other operational duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting excess casualty business in an underwriting, operations, or related insurance role
- Familiarity with commercial lines insurance products, policy documents, and industry terminology
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and service-oriented approach to broker interactions
- High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, document management, and correspondence
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and comfort working within digital underwriting and workflow platforms
- Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with a team in a hybrid office environment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in excess and surplus lines, specialty insurance, or an MGA/MGU environment
- Experience with large-account commercial casualty or specialty insurance operations
- Experience with manual rating, loss rating, or actuarial support functions
- Familiarity with broker portal platforms and electronic submission systems
- Associate in Commercial Underwriting (AU), CPCU coursework, or other relevant insurance designations
