Job Summary
Underwriting Assistant for Commercial Realty Program in Canada focusing on underwriting support and administrative tasks. You’ll assist with new business submissions, renewals, endorsements, policy issuance, rating, and file preparation; review submissions for completeness; respond to broker and internal inquiries regarding policy status and underwriting requirements; coordinate with insurers and internal teams to ensure timely service delivery and issue resolution; monitor renewals and follow-ups to meet timelines and service standards; support reporting, workflow management, and process-improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with procedures and regulatory requirements. The role emphasizes detail-oriented underwriting support, client service, and coordination across underwriters, brokers, and internal teams.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years of insurance industry experience (underwriting support, commercial lines, policy administration or brokerage operations)
- experience supporting commercial property or realty portfolios is a plus
- strong administrative and organizational skills with attention to detail
- ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a high-volume environment
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and insurance broker management/underwriting systems
