Job Summary
Render credit decisions on incoming applicants consistent with internal policies, underwrite mortgage commitments, and verify supporting documentation submitted by Mortgage Brokers. Review and analyze documentation provided on each loan to make informed lending decisions in compliance with company policies, including the ability to review complex tax returns. Uphold service level agreements while performing duties under minimal supervision to resolve complicated issues and manage a high daily loan volume. Maintain adherence to state and federal lending regulations including Ability to Repay, RESPA, Reg B, and Reg Z. Full-time onsite role in Warwick R.I. or Kennesaw GA with quarterly discretionary bonuses. Requires minimum five years of recent experience underwriting non-conforming residential mortgage loans and familiarity with Encompass, Salesforce, and Excel.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of real estate lending and loan structuring
- Valuation methodologies
- Strong understanding of borrower financials, credit risk, and KYC/AML compliance
- Proficiency in tools like Encompass, Salesforce, and Excel
- Minimum 5 years of recent experience underwriting non-conforming residential mortgage loans
- Minimum 5 years of experience with state and federal lending regulations (i.e., Ability to Repay, RESPA, Reg B, Reg Z, Fair Lending, etc.)
- Ability to review complex tax returns
- Ability to perform duties under minimal supervision and actively engage with the supervisor to resolve complicated issues
- Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form
- Strong time management skills to plan and organize a high daily loan volume
- Detail-oriented team player able to collaborate constructively with fellow employees

- Must be able to work on site at either Warwick R.I. or Kennesaw GA office
