Job Summary
Underwriter (Sports & Entertainment) for James River Insurance focused on reviewing and analyzing underwriting data to determine risk acceptability, determine premiums and terms, and respond to brokers. Responsibilities include analyzing new business opportunities, developing renewal strategies, attaining quote/premium/division goals, building and maintaining broker relationships, negotiating with brokers on placements, and traveling to meet brokers within the assigned territory (at least three times per year). Requires strong skills in evaluating risk, quoting, binding accounts, and customer service, with proficiency in MS Office and the ability to work independently or in a team. This position is remote eligible in the United States and requires a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience) with at least 2 years of underwriting experience in Excess & Surplus lines; H-1B sponsorship is not available.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 2 years of related underwriting experience (Excess and Surplus lines preferred)
- Not eligible for H-1B visa sponsorship (must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis)
