Job Summary
Experienced Property Treaty underwriter to join a high-performing reinsurance team in a London-based hybrid role. Underwrite new business and renewals, apply underwriting guidelines to optimise risk selection and portfolio performance, and develop strong relationships with brokers and internal stakeholders. Contribute to portfolio planning, data quality and governance, and stay aligned with regulatory frameworks. Leverage technical capabilities and tools (Excel, RMS/Verisk) to model risk, inform pricing, and support strategic decisions across North American and international property portfolios. Collaborate with senior underwriters, brokers, and global partners to underwrite profitably and sustainably, with opportunities to broaden experience across territories.
Required Qualifications
- Experience within property treaty reinsurance gained in an underwriting or broking capacity
- Strong technical capability with Excel, databases and relevant underwriting or departmental systems
- Practical understanding of catastrophe modelling and loss models with experience using risk profiling and pricing tools such as RMS/Verisk
- Knowledge of UK legal and regulatory requirements including FCA and Lloyd’s frameworks
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and internal stakeholders
- Highly organised with strong analytical, prioritisation and stakeholder management skills
