Job Summary
Underwrite and analyze new and renewal Multinational Casualty accounts in a market-facing, hybrid role based in New York. Responsibilities include underwriting, analyzing, and generating new and renewal business; market-facing production within the Middle Market Multinational division; administering underwriting rules and guidelines and regulatory requirements; developing and maintaining agency and broker relationships in the West Region; and operating within broad limits on highly complex assignments. Role can be filled at Underwriter or Underwriting Specialist level depending on experience and qualifications; salary ranges reflect role variation. The position emphasizes visibility in the marketplace (approximately 25%) and collaboration with managers to set flexible schedules.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 1 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 1 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area
- Knowledge of line/s of business and the legal and regulatory guidelines
- Knowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
- Multinational experience (preferred)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (preferred)
- Microsoft Office experience (preferred)
