Job Summary
Prepare and execute rate proposals for prospective and renewing clients across medical, pharmacy, and stop-loss products. Analyze group-level healthcare data, including claims and premiums, to evaluate credibility and identify data issues. Collaborate with Sales and Account Executives on RFP responses and group renewals while maintaining pricing accuracy. Provide financial analysis and recommendations on group insurance arrangements, supporting implementation processes by validating group structures and documentation. Participate in internal audits and cross-functional projects as needed.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in Business, Finance, Statistics, or a closely related field - or equivalent professional experience
- 3+ years of underwriting experience
- Understanding of health insurance plans i.e., fully insured, level-funded, ASO, and stop-loss
- Basic knowledge of healthcare pricing, funding methods, and Health Savings Accounts (HSAs)
- Proficient in Excel (Macros, Pivot Tables), Microsoft Office, and working with data
- Great attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Clear and confident communication, both written and verbal
- Innovator with a strong desire to challenge existing norms related to traditional healthcare and health insurance
