Job Summary
Review and analyze underwriting files to accept new business or renewals, establishing accuracy in identification and minimizing risk exposure through change requests and outside databases. Evaluate account premium levels consistent with established company plans and interpret contracts to determine exposures for internal guidance. Provide coverage verification to the Claims Department and market to assigned agencies to achieve new business flow during annual visits. Manage an existing portfolio while actively building new business to expand regional footprint. This hybrid role requires in-office presence Monday through Wednesday with remote options Thursday and Friday.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- 2+ years of inland marine and/or property underwriting experience
- Solid understanding of the insurance marketplace, including pricing and competitive positioning
- Proven ability to build and maintain broker relationships that drive new and renewal business
- Experience managing a book of business while contributing to growth
- Strong skills in pricing, risk selection, and deal structuring
- Working knowledge of industry trends, products, and the broader competitive landscape
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must not require VISA sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment purposes
- Must be available for in-office days Monday through Wednesday
- Must be available for remote work on Thursday and Friday
Desired Qualifications
- Industry designations CPCU, ARM, or AU INS21, 22 and 23
- Exposure to loss control or risk engineering
