Job Summary
Evaluates property & casualty insurance applications to determine risk, deciding on acceptance, conditions, and pricing. Assists in determining the acceptability, conditions, and pricing of specific property & casualty insurance risks and associated coverage. Maintains familiarity with products, services, priorities, target markets, loss experience, business conditions, and major legal or economic factors affecting the line of business. Communicates effectively with colleagues in underwriting and support areas to meet customer needs. May accompany senior underwriters or marketing representatives on appointments in assigned territories and industry events. Develops and maintains relationships with agency representatives.
Required Qualifications
- Two to five years of experience in commercial multi-lines property and casualty underwriting
- Must have attention-to-detail skills
- Must possess a strong degree of organization
- Must be analytical
- Must be results-oriented
- Must possess a strong sense of urgency
- Must have good people and agency relationship building skills
Desired Qualifications
- College Degree
- Equivalent experience
