Job Summary
Underwriter for Financial Lines focused on underwriting new and renewal business across D&O, professional indemnity, commercial crime, financial institutions, and cyber. Build and maintain broker relationships, assess risk through claims history and company information, provide excellent service, generate new business via broker networks, and deliver accurate monthly management information (submissions, bind rate, average/total premium). Lead product development opportunities, support growth objectives, and ensure compliance with underwriting procedures. Office-based role with emphasis on in-person collaboration and stakeholder coordination across administrations, legal, claims, and finance.
Required Qualifications
- Possess MAS recognised insurance qualification
- Proven experience in Financial Lines underwriting
- Experience in underwriting Cyber is a plus
- Risk assessment experience; including new business reinsurance negotiations and developing renewal retention strategies
- The ability to analyze financial statements
- Strong communication, networking and relationship-building skills
