Job Summary
Underwrite commercial property and casualty risks within established guidelines by evaluating, quoting, and managing new and renewal business submitted by broker partners. Manage a portfolio of basic to moderately complex accounts, covering coverage analysis, pricing, risk assessment, and profitability management while achieving assigned monthly sales and production targets. Build strong relationships with brokers to support local business development initiatives and deliver exceptional customer service with consistently met standards. Apply sound underwriting judgment and company policies to all decisions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a property/casualty underwriter
- Experience working for an MGA
- University degree or post-secondary diploma
- Completion of CIP/CAIB/CRM or working towards it
- Critical thinking and analysis
- Excellent time management and ability to multitask
- Exceptional customer service and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills & broker relationships
- Ability to take initiative and work effectively with minimal direction
