Job Summary
Review policies and procedures, answer underwriting inquiries regarding interpretation of rules and regulations, and assess data accuracy to prepare recommendations on referral files within authority. Review, underwrite, and prepare new business, endorsements, and renewals while participating in quality reviews, problem solving, and discussions to improve growth and profit opportunities. Maintain agency and internal relationships to profitably grow a multi-line book of business within assigned territories.
Required Qualifications
- Enrolled in CIP or actively pursuing designation
- 3-5 years of Underwriting experience
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the non-standard auto market
- Experience in a broker office
- Knowledge of the Alberta regional insurance market
- Knowledge of the broker within the market
- Strong negotiation skills
- Customer service skills
- The ability and willingness to learn
- Strong attention to details
- Ability to collaborate with peers and subordinates to reach goals
- The ability to work well independently
- Experience using Guidewire
