Job Summary
Undermanager to support underground longwall mining operations by leading shift crews, executing daily/weekly plans, and ensuring safety and environmental obligations. Responsibilities include distributing 24-hour plans, coordinating with the Shift Engineer, Deputies and Trades, managing and monitoring shift personnel, enforcing standards, and ensuring shift reports are accurately completed. Requires initiative, minimal supervision, and strong leadership with a track record in operational and team management within underground mining.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Underground Longwall Mining
- Holder of certificate of competency as Undermanager or be mutually recognised with equivalent qualification
- Desirable minimum of 10 years’ experience in the mining industry
- Proven track record in operational management at same or subordinate level
- Demonstrated management and leadership capability
