Job Summary
Underground Utilities Estimator prepares detailed cost estimates and bid proposals for underground utility construction in the Kansas City market. Responsibilities include reviewing drawings/specifications and geotechnical reports to define scope, performing digital takeoffs and quantity calculations for pipe, structures, and related site work, soliciting/subcontractor/vendor quotes, attending pre-bid meetings and site visits, and identifying risks with mitigation strategies. Requires 5+ years estimating underground utilities or heavy civil (10+ years for senior consideration); proficient with HCSS HeavyBid or equivalent, Bluebeam, MS Office, and digital takeoff tools. On-site at the Kansas City headquarters with occasional regional travel; office-based with field/site visits as needed. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred; valid driver’s license.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years estimating underground utilities or heavy civil

- strong analytical, written, and verbal communication
