Job Summary
Lead and supervise the underground soft rock mine mining team to safely achieve production targets and uphold quality, safety, and regulatory standards. Responsibilities include modifying shift plans as needed, completing shift logs and safety audits, enforcing safety systems and lockout tagging, coordinating Processing, Services, Ground Control, Production and Development personnel, tracking variances and implementing action plans, conducting regular safety and performance evaluations, and ensuring compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Mines Regulations. Also responsible for personnel training recommendations, relaying critical information at handoffs, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with maintenance, EHS&S, logistics, and other departments. Must ensure adherence to the collective agreement, manage incident reporting, and support a relocation program for qualified candidates.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Mining Common Core
- Minimum of 5 years mining experience, soft rock preferred
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Experience with Regulations for Mines and Mining Plants
- Proficient knowledge of MS Office
