Job Summary
Operate underground mining equipment including trucks, nippers, and drills while performing general laboring, charge-ups, and construction tasks. Liaise with shift supervisors to obtain work area information, conduct thorough pre-start checks, and report all hazards or damage immediately. Perform scaling, ground condition assessments, and fault finding to minimize equipment downtime and maximize productivity. Maintain high standards of housekeeping and safety compliance with MSHA requirements. Work a 14-day on, 7-day off rotating schedule up to 12 hours daily at a remote Alaskan campsite with provided housing and dining services.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to provide leadership and training to new team members
- Current Driver's License
- Awareness of the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) Act & Regulations
- Be able to pass a background check and post offer physical
- Working a 14 day on, 7 day off rotating schedule up to 12 hours a day or more at a remote campsite
- Extreme conditions, including but not limited to extreme and changing weather conditions, dust, mud, varying levels of noise, varying degrees of light and dark, in and around artificial light and in a confined work area
- Employees are required to stay on site at the company provided camp during the work rotation
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in underground hard rock mining techniques
- Experience operating underground mining equipment such as Trucks, Light Vehicles, Charge Wagon, Bogger, Tele-remote equipment, Integrated Tool Carrier, Skid Steer, Zoom Boom, Grader, Long Hole Drill, Jumbo Drill
- Basic mechanical knowledge
- Good communication skills, including ability to read and speak English
- Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices
- Basic computer literacy
