Job Summary
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on underground and surface mining equipment, including Sandvik LHDs, drills, haul trucks, and light vehicles. Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems to diagnose faults and implement effective solutions while conducting field repairs in underground workings. Follow OEM manuals and site-specific procedures to complete accurate work orders and maintain strict safety compliance through lockout/tagout and JHA completion. Collaborate with operations to prioritize repairs and provide feedback on equipment condition to support continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires a 7 on/7 off schedule with 12-hour shifts and overtime as needed. Previous experience in underground mining maintenance is strongly preferred, and candidates must possess hands-on knowledge of Sandvik, Normet, Caterpillar, and Komatsu equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in underground mining maintenance
- Hands-on knowledge of Sandvik, Normet, Caterpillar, and Komatsu mining equipment
- Familiarity with underground support vehicles and light-duty fleet
- Ability to read OEM manuals, hydraulic/electrical schematics, and technical drawings
- Strong diagnostic skills with mechanical, hydraulic, can bus and electrical systems
- Proficiency with laptops and diagnostic software for OEM equipment
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance with mining regulations
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment under demanding conditions
- Effective communication skills to relay technical information and equipment status
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Physically fit and able to work in confined underground spaces
- Must be able to work shift work with 12-hour shifts
- Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday
